Sublime, water-clear, gem, colorless fluorite cubes are intergrown with translucent cubes on this impressive and sculptural large fluorite from the famed Yaogangxian Mine. The stunningly glassy and lustrous cubes reach 7.1 cm on edge. Internal crazing adds real character to the crystals. The Yaogangxian Mine is certainly among the world's great specimen producing mines with fluorite being one of the most significant species. It has produced many world-class fluorite specimens in a wide rainbow of colors and crystal habits. A cluster of parallel-growth, flattened calcite rhombohedrons at the top is a nice accessory. Purple LW UV fluorite fluorescence and vivid orange LW UV calcite fluorescence. Colorless gem fluorite is not that common from here and this is a most excellent large example. From an old collection in China, not modern material. Colorless, like old Dalnegorsk material - this is almost unseen from China! VALUED $3000-5000
