Item Description
Fantastic killer gem fluorapatite from this famous Mexico iron mine. The sharply terminated, textbook hexagonal, very glassy, water-clear crystal has classic yellow-green color. This exceptional crystal has only miniscule vertical crazing at the base of the crystal, RARE in such specimens. Most crystals have more interior crazing from the explosives used in ore extraction. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only a modest bit of termination edge wear. Ex Taylor Hunt Collection. An outstanding gem fluorapatite from Cerro de Mercado. Mass is 68.56 carats or 13.7 grams. This is a GEM specimen, a small miniature or toenail, but larger than a true thumbnail.
