Item Description

Gem euclase crystals directly attributable to this less well-known Minas Gerais pegmatite are VERY RARE, as are ANY specimens. This textbook, highly lustrous prismatic sharply terminated gem crystal is water-clear, colorless, well-striated and has light iron oxide tinting. The front and back are pristine and it's hard to tell that both sides are cleaved because (as the species name suggests) euclase cleaves perfectly and this seems to be cleaved (probably in the pocket). So it looks great on a display shelf even though the edges are missing. Still, a fine and classic Minas Gerais euclase crystal from the Matioli Collection. 30 grams mass.
