Item Description
A glorious, 5.5 cm, gem calcite crystal is dramatically and aesthetically set on matrix. The limpid, doubly terminated and twinned crystal has uniformly, fine amber color, which is RARE for Elmwood calcites. Most doubly terminated Elmwood calcites have a white girdle across the middle. The high luster, sharpness of the crystal faces and the internal veils add real glamour to this beauty. Complete all-around, the lightly bruised tip and couple of trivial spots of edge wear are noted. This remains a very fine and uncommon example of this highly desirable Elmwood calcite varietal. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection and purchased in 1984.
