Item Description
The yellow-green variety of spodumene, called triphane, is much less common from these rich gem crystal localities than pink spodumene or kunzite. This striking, large, parallel-growth, bar-like crystal is a water-clear, doubly terminated floater and looks like GLASS! It is not evident in the photos how good the color is and how glassy and lustrous the crystal is. The C-axis photo highlights the rich green color saturation. The crystal has a supremely waxy feel and both prism faces are well-striated. The striking, double, uneven, chisel-shaped termination faces are lightly frosted and have nifty cross-hatched etching, while the other termination looks a bit rougth, but is definitely terminated. Essentially pristine, with only the most trivial of termination edge wear. At 144 grams, this is an impressive one. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock. Valued $750-1000. MUCH, MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!!!
