Item Description
Classic teal-blue color on this limpid gem doubly terminated indicolite tourmaline from circa 2009-2010 finds at the famed Pederneira Mine. The very glassy, highly lustrous, well-striated trigonal crystal is nicely accented by the stepped-growth purple termination. The interesting highly modified pinacoidal basal termination is teal-green. Pristine with just a bit of internal layering. One prism face is embedded with a myriad of tiny indicolites, adding character. The three barely noticeable very clean repairs on the crystal are certainly acceptable in the context of pegmatite species. VERY difficult to photograph correctly with the gemminess, glassiness, high luster, and striations. MUCH better in person! A fine and classic gem doubly terminated Pederneira indicolite. Mass is 11 grams.
