Item Description

A "gem pencil", this glassy and gemmy, well-striated, doubly-terminated, teal-blue, elbaite crystal is limpid. The gem mass is 17 grams. A simple, but elegant gem crystal! The upper termination is frosted and purple and there is an impression, where another small tourmaline once lay. The basal termination is olive-green, etched and also has an impression from another tourmaline crystal. A nifty groove runs down one side of the crystal, but is hard to see in the photos. This material came out in 2002-2003 and I sold this at the time (recently getting it back). Many crystals from this lot were simply sold as gem rough because it was easy money - I am almost embarrassed to say how many were cut out of the 50 piece lot I had at the time. This is a glowing, unrepaired, pristine, gem crystal and stands apart in quality from many murkier or less bright indicolites from the mine. Valued $2500. Comes with a custom-made and engraved lucite base valued at $100, for free.
