Item Description
For the uncommon locality, this aquamarine is large (65 grams) and stunningly intense in color. The gemmy, water-clear and lustrous crystal has a riveting dark blue that is similar to what you see in only the best Pakistani or Brazilian aquamarine crystals, though of course Nepalese aquas are far more hard to come by. Although the terminations are not smooth and flat, they are nevertheless completely terminated with minute stepped-growth, and so this crystal is technically doubly-terminated. It glows in a case, with color really a notch above all but the best aquas from Pakistan or Brazil. Valued $2000. This came from a small lot of perhaps 10-12 crystals I was shown at Munich, in 2005. Comes with a custom-made and engraved lucite base valued at $100, for free. Very rare in this quality.
