Item Description

Alluvial gravel diamonds from the Vaal River were mined since the early 1800s before the famous nearby kimberlite diamond pipes were first discovered at the renowned Kimberley Mine in 1871. Documented Vaal River alluvial diamonds are VERY RARE and are seldom on market. This is a sharp, glassy, colorless gem octahedron with classic adamantine luster. 0.95 carats mass and comes with a label from respected rarities dealer Excalibur Mineral Company. A rare and desirable diamond.
