Item Description
Diamond specimens are rare from these well-known alluvial diamond claims on the Jequitinhonha River. Acitive mining by the Rio Novo mining company ceased in 2007. But, there are still 1,500 to 2,000 independent miners operating the claim during the dry season as of 2014 (MINDAT). This is a fine gem rounded octahedron with classic adamantine luster and light gray color. 0.54 carats mass. Seldom on the market.
