Item Description

Danburite is rare from Madagascar, with easily the finest specimens coming from this well-known pegmatite, famous from outstanding Liddicoatite Tourmaline specimens. This fine gem thumbnail has pretty yellow color, high glassy lustre and a textbook chisel termination. It comes from limited 1983-84 finds, with none since. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 10283 and acquired from the Melanson's at the 1984 Tucson Show. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien-Welt" November-December 2017).
