Item Description
Impressive and colorful large gem, 360-degree, parallel-growth citrine quartz crystal with striking offset terminations from a Minas Gerais, Brazil pegmatite. The water-clear crystal has rich golden-amber color and is very glassy and lustrous. Termination faces have satin luster and a single, etched, frosted face. The six hexagonal prism faces feature stepped-growth, glass-clarity, satin luster, frosting, etching or embedding with quartz. Complete all-around and very nearly pristine. The two gently bruised terminations and trival nearby edge wear are certainly only modest detraction. Mass is 390 grams. From the Bill Larson Quartz collection case, of approximately 250 specimens, which we bought in 2023. It was a long-term, very diverse mix on display for decades at the Pala International shop as an educational and fun exhibit. It was started back in the late 1970s. Bill priced the crystal at $1500 years ago. Natural citrine crystals are quite rare in nature and this is a wonderful large gem crystal from Brazil. It is certainly worth more today.
