Item Description
A "gem" of a two-piece deal from the famous Cruzeiro Mine! Two, beautiful, gemmy and lustrous, bi-colored, tourmalines have pink cores surrounded by a green rind (watermelons). The longer crystal, with the unusual, highly modified pinacoidal termination has a beautiful teal-blue indicolite uppper section. The shorter crystal is a pretty grass-green to the termination. The taller crystal has a broken base with a gem nodule and shorter crystal is technically doubly terminated, as both ends were broken/contacted and have rehealed. The taller crystal has very trivial termination edge wear and the shorter one is pristine. A beautiful and classic older pair from the 1960s or 70s finds from the Irv Brown Collection. 22.17 carats total mass. 11.11 and 11.06 carats each.
