Item Description
A striking, old-time, bi-colored, Cruzeiro tourmaline. The gemmy upper half is beautifully juicy, pleasing cranberry-red. The lower half, central portion of the lustrous, well-striated, crystal is starkly contrasting, gemmy, light gray. The termination has been polished, but is certainly a modest detraction and given the age and rarity, I think acceptable in context. Very trivial edge wear is noted. Red, bi-colored Cruzeiro crystals of this quality came out in the 1960s and 70s and are very uncommon and are highly desired. 27 grams. Valued at $400-500 but as a decorative and display piece...as the termination IS polished.
