Item Description
A bi-colored tourmaline of superb, uncommon quality and beauty from the Cruzeiro Mine. It is extremely gemmy, with striking vertical banding of cranberry and honey-yellow. The termination is a much more intense variable cranberry and is pristine. The very modest internal horizontal crazing and light etching to most of the prism faces really makes the crystal pop, when backlit. Technically a doubly terminated crystal, as the base was broken and rehealed. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only trivial contact bruising on one prism face and the hardly noticeable broken tip on a sidecar crystal. Old-time and a very uncommon tourmaline in this color combination from the 1960s to 70s finds. This fine gem crystal weighs 27 grams. Valued at $1000-1250. MUCH, MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!!!
