Item Description
A gorgeous, gemmy, lustrous, bi-colored tourmaline from Pech, Afghanistan. The grass-green and yellow-green, complex, pyramidal termination grades downward to a very pleasing variable grass-green body to a basal area with a pink core on this water-clear gem crystal. Thus, this is a watermelon tourmaline. The crystal has a very prominent groove down one side and the nifty olive-green sidecar spray really adds character. A very fine, very showy and nearly pristine bi-colored tourmaline from this locale. One small spot of bruising is noted next to the groove near the base. 26 grams. Valued at $1200. This is an excellent specimen. Far fewer of these are available today with the ongoing war. This beauty glows when backlit.
