Item Description
A super-cute and colorful, gem bi-colored, doubly terminated tourmaline from the famous Himalaya Mine. The limpid, glassy, well-striated crystal has a gorgeous, apple-green, complex termination followed by a classic "Himalaya pink" mid-section. The lower area is olive-brown. The highy lustrous basal termination is lightly dinged. Otherwise, this classic is complete all-around and pristine. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 5312 and acquired in the mid-1960s. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). Very fine OLDER Himalaya toumaline! 43.60 carats or over 8.5 grams mass.
