Item Description
Impressive and beautiful, large, elongated gem aquamarine crystal from the famous Shigar Valley of Pakistan. The pristine, glassy, textbook hexagonal, water-clear crystal has fine ice-blue color with satin luster faces. The pinacoidal termination has one interesting modified corner and is nicely complemented and enhanced with two small, contrasting black pencil schorl crystals, to 9 mm. 28 grams mass. This classic gem aqua probably dates to the 1980s. Ex Bill Larson Beryl Collection. Bill is a famous California mine owner of the Himalaya Mine among others; and mineral collector and dealer and gemologist. Long on display at his Fallbrook shop, this has been in the flagship beryl educational collection they built in the 1970s and later. A choice example of large elongated, narrow, gem aquamarine with accessories from the noted locale.
