Gem Aquamarine w/ unusual tubes (Hefendehl Coll.)

Item Description

Highly unusual variable length tube-like growth disruptions in the interior of this fine gem aquamarine crystal from the famous Teófilo Otoni area of Minas Gerais. The pretty light ice-blue hexagonal crystal is very glassy, well-striated with bright waxy luster. There is a bit of embedded feldspar in the water-clear termination. Complete all-around and pristine. 22 grams mass. Ex Kurt Hefendehl Collection. Aquamarine is relatively uncommon from the Teofilo Otoni area and this is a rare excellent example with tube-like growth disruptions.
