Gem Aquamarine & Quartz

A gorgeous vivid blue, 6.0 cm, aquamarine crystal is aesthetically frozen in a large quartz crystal on this showy and excellent combination from the Shigar Valley. The upper 2.5 cm of the very glassy aqua is limpid gem, with the lower section being translucent. One prism face at the termination is contacted, but has no damage, per se. The glassy quartz is transparent to translucent with water-clear to frosted faces. Two faces are partially contacted with intense stepped-growth, but have very little damage. The quartz termination dinged and the basal periphery wear to the aqua and quartz are noted, but have minimal impact to fine display quality of this very showy are combination. This is a classic, gemmy style Shigar aqua. Valued at $1250-1500.
