Gem Aquamarine (New Find)

Item Description

An gorgeous, intense-blue, very color-saturated, gem aquamarine from new finds in Vietnam. This elegant crystal is beautifully set in the starkly contrasting, surrounding mostly feldspar matix. The color is extreme and reminds me only of a very few Jos aquamarines I have seen in the past, quite more robust than aquamarines from Pakistan or Brazil. The exposed portion of the crystal is 2.1 cm, but it extends out of the bottom and is actually 3.7 cm long. Complete-all-around and nearly pristine, with only a trivial, out-of-sight bruise to a back termination edge. We have just received more accurate locality information for this find: Doi Ty Mine, Thuang Xuan. Valued at $500 by the previous owner, a gem dealer I traded it out of. MUCH, MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!!!
