Item Description

Geikielite is a rare Ilmenite Group Mg-Ti oxide. Splendent, iridescent, sharp, trigonal crystals to 2 mm are peppered on the matrix. MINDAT does not list the species from Jumilla, Spain, although ilmenite is listed for the locale. Miguel Calvo (2009) published, that geikielite is found at the Trinidad Mine in Andalusia. Either locality, this is an Extremely Rare and very rich example of the species from Spain. Ex Will Henderson Collection.
