Item Description
Gedrite is part of ferromagnesian subgroup of the amphibole supergroup. The material gets is name from the type locality at Gedres, Heas Valley, France. This piece is a rich sample of Gedrite showing compacted fibrous form with a golden-silver hue. There is an unidentified green mineral on the side of the piece as well. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#10403). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
