Item Description

Gaudefroyite is an ultra rare manganes borate compound. Lustrous, black, hexagonal, gaudefroyite prism to 8 mm are richly strewn on this choice example of the gaudefroyite/andradite/barite combination specimens. The gemmy, bright to dark cherry-red andradite garnets are a super compliment, as are the snow-white barites. Scattered bruising is noted, on the piece, but its still a good reference piece. The best gaudefroyites in the world come from the Kalahari Manganese Field and this is a highly representative and showy example of the combination species. Ex Wes Parker Collection.
