Item Description

Gatumbaite is an extremely rare hydrated calcium aluminum phosphate in about six places in the world. This piece is from the Buranga which is type locality for the species, and is the ONLY representation I have seen from this area. Obviously the species gets its name from the Gatumba District in which it was found. The material is virtually non-existent on the market and if you're a rare species collector, or one of those collectors who loves to collect species from the type locality, don't miss out on this one as it's the only piece of the material that we have to offer. Please note that the the Gatumbaite is actually the white spots, and the blue is the Scorzalite, which is an iron phosphate, related to Lazulite. The piece comes with an old Excalibur Minerals label so I have no doubt it's accurate. A tremendous rarity here folks, be sure to pick this one up!
