Item Description

Some of the finest examples of the rare nickel carbonate gaspeite come from this well-known nickel mine, which has produced the greatest variety of secondary nickel minerals found anywhere in the world to date (MINDAT). It seldom crystallizes. This is an extremely rich and showy large two-sided specimen of striking, lime-green gaspeite. Botryoidal masses of microcrystals and crusts cover both sides of the plate. This is a high quality and rich large piece. The mineral so seldom forms in this quality, and is apparently quite difficult to find as not much comes to market despite its beauty. This very rich, large and important specimen is from the 132 North Nickel Mine of Western Australia. RARE on the market in this size, quality and richness.
