Item Description
Gaspeite is a fairly rare nickel carbonate species after the Gaspe Peninsula in Canada. Faceted gems and cabochons of Gaspeite are virtually always opaque, but that lively green color (due to the nickel content) is what really drives people's interest. As I mentioned, Gaspeite is typically cut into cabochons, but this is actually one of the few FACETED stones of this material that I've seen. The stone is has an "Oval" cut, and even though it's opaque, it would make a great addition to any rare stone collection. A must have for any fan of rare gems or rarely seen faceted gems.
