Item Description

These specimens are some of the most exemplary pieces of Gaspeite from any locality. Typically this rare nickel carbonate species is found in uncrystallized / massive "chunks", and is used in the lapidary world for polishing into cabochons. This particular specimen is a wonderful crystallized example featuring beautiful spherical aggregates of eye-catching soft apple green Gaspeite on both sides of the volcanic host rock matrix. Gaspeite so seldom forms in this quality, and the 132 North Mine is completely closed, so it's unlikely that we will see more of them in the future.
