Item Description
Garnet comes in virtually every color of the rainbow. This stone came to us labeled only as Garnet, so it's hard to say specifically which species it is. My best guess is that it's either Spessartine or Almandine, but keep in mind that a lot of the Garnets from East Africa show a mixture of two or more Garnet species, so they're sometimes nearly impossible to completely nail down. This stone was cut from a piece of rough that was mined circa 2000. This "Step Oval" cut gem is only very slightly included, and has a great rich red color.
