Galkhaite (rare Hg sulfide)

Item Description

Lustrous, dark blood-red to metallic-gray galkhaite cubes to 4 mm on a nicely contrasting gray, drusy quartz-covered matrix from the famous Getchell Mine of Nevada. Galkhaite is a very rare cesium, thallium, mercury sulfide. This piece is probably from small finds in the late 1970s stashed until recent years by the mine geologist.
