Item Description

Galkhaite is a fairly unusual and somewhat complex suflosalt, and is one of only about twenty minerals in the world that contains Cesium! The species is really only found in a handful of world localities, and is probably best known from the Getchell Mine. This piece features micro crystals of sharp, cubic, deep red colored Galkhaite on Quartz matrix. The color is somewhat similar to deep red Cinnabar or Realgar. Hard to find on the market, and certainly worth picking up if you collect rare sulfosalts. This pieces comes with a classic label from Josef Vajdak / Pequa Rare Minerals, which immediately increases the value. You can read Joe's biography here: http://www.minrec.org/labels.asp?colid=1371
