Galkhaite

Item Description

Galkhaite is a ULTRA-RARE cesium, thallium, mercury sulfosalt and this very fine thumbnail is a good example. The dark red crystals are translucent with a hint of gemminess and they have good luster. The crystals average about 1.5 mm in size, and they are nicely distributed across the matrix. From the famous Getchell Mine of Nevada, likely discovered in the small finds of the late 1970s.
