Item Description

A superb, large, galena cube from the famous Joplin Field, and the George Feist Collection # 2849. His collection was well known for its superb tristate suites! At first glance, due to the high luster and sharp faces, this splendent cube with very interesting growth faces and modified corners looks like Viburnum Trend galena. But the accessory, translucent, rubyjack sphalerite is diagnostic to the Tri-State District. This outstanding, old-time galena cube is essentially pristine. It is as sharp a single galena as I have seen from the old Tri State region, and really is prettier and sharper than most. It survives in superb condition. At 2.6 pounds or 1.2 kilos, it is no lightweight, either. We (and Feist) valued this highly at around $1000 .
