Item Description
This is a classic piece from the famous Picher Field locality in Oklahoma featuring sharp, well-formed, gun metal gray colored cubes of Galena associated with dark complex crystals of Sphalerite on a thin layer of matrix. While there are not a lot of species found in this area, the Galena crystals are classics, and some of the most well-known examples from any US locality. The largest Galena measures 1.4 cm, and the largest Sphalerite is about 8 mm. Very little damage, only a few minor nicks here and there. Despite the fact that there was a lot of these pieces on the market years ago, very few of them are out there now.
