Galena with Marcasite and Chalcopyrite

Item Description

A beautiful example of these famous Galena specimens from the Joplin Field in Missouri. This piece features a predominant central cube of gunmetal grey colored Galena with a few accenting secondary cubes aesthetically flaring off the corners, and partially covered by thin blades of soft golden metallic Marcasite and a light druse of iridescent Chalcopyrite. The piece is nearly a complete "floater", as it's almost crystallized 100% of the way around, with the exception of a few slight contacts on the underside. A really eye-catching and highly displayable specimen of this well-known material.
