Item Description

An impressive, large, old-time, galena specimen with accessories from the famous Tri-State District. The two, intergrown, large cubes, to 8.2 x 8.0 x 6.5 cm, have a striking secondary overgrowth of galena crystals, which include very nifty fortification features and spinel-twins. Pretty, gemmy, rubyjack sphalerite crystals are richly peppered about and several fields of sparkly, drusy pyrite crystals are fine compliments. The chert matrix is covered with tan dolomite rhombs. A visually dramatic, large, old-time and important combination specimen from this historic district. A very early acquisition of Harold Urish with # 10 on the bottom. Heavy lead at 7.7 pounds or 3.5 kilos.
