An exceptional and very aesthetic old-time, two-sided combination plate from the famous Picher Field, Oklahoma portion of the Tri-State District. The "front" is composed of a striking, pristine, intergrown cluster of sharp, lustrous, battleship-gray galena cubes, to 2.0 cm. The cubes rest on the banded chert matrix. The surprising back hosts a rich peppering of scintillating, gemmy, classic orange-red rubyjack sphalerite crystals to about 4 mm. A few larger sphalerites add character.
