Item Description
Striking intergrown, stepped-growth, lustrous, metallic-gray galena cubes are richly dusted with micro marcasite/chalcopyrite crystals on this classic and excellent old-timer from the Tri-State District. The crystals rest on a sphalerite matrix and the showy piece has multiple fine display views. Ex Dr. Gary Hansen Collection, who valued this piece at $175 more than 30 years ago. Hefty lead-zinc ore at 1176 grams or 2.6 pounds mass.
