Galena w/ Dolomite & Smithsonite (RARE large xl)

Item Description

Large galena crystals are RARE from this famed locale, even with galena being the primary lead ore. From the 1977 Mineralogical Record Tsumeb Special Issue: "Crystals are uncommon and rarely reach 1 cm in size." This very large modified compound cube has matte etched faces. Broken surfaces show the splendent metallic-gray luster, typical of galena. The field of small pastel-pink dolomite rhombs accented with a cute 6 mm, doubly terminated, amber smithsonite crystal is a super compliment to this rare and extraordinarily large example.
