Galena w/ Chalcopyrite

Item Description

The Alimon Mine is famous for mixed sulfide and quartz specimens and this is a showy and attractive piece. The bright metallic galena cubes have striking checkerboard stepped-growth faces and are dramatically accented with large chalcopyrite crystals with secondary overgrowths of golden-yellow microcrystalline chalcopyrite. The scattered clusters of uncommon calcite crystals are a nifty accent (pink fluorescence). An excellent and highly representative example of the combination species and locale.
