Galena (''Spinel'' twins) with Calcite

Crystallized specimens from Dalnegorsk are not as common on the market as they once were, but it's important to stress that they are some of the finest quality examples of their respective species from any modern locality. The Galena specimens from Dalnegorsk are truly impressive and just stunning in person. Here we have a wonderful cabinet display specimen featuring sharp, highly lustrous, metallic, silvery, stepped, compressed, well-formed, "Spinel"-Law twins of Galena with associated tabular "discs" of Calcite and minor Chalcopyrite. A light druse of pale great Quartz can be seen coating select faces of the Galena crystals. The largest Galena twin measures 2.7 cm on edge, and the largest Calcite measures 1.2 cm across. Excellent quality all over this piece, and better in person than the photos indicate! I love the form of the crystals with fantastic almost "hoppered" looking faces and mirror bright reflections.
