Item Description

This is a wonderful and showy small cabinet sized display specimen of the famous Dalnegorsk region in Russia. This particular piece dates back circa 1990s. This highly aesthetic specimen features many sharp, very well-formed, metallic silvery-grey colored, compressed "Spinel"-twins of Galena measuring up to 3.7 cm across associated with contrasting bright brass colored Chalcopyrite crystals, along with compressed tabular "discs" of Calcite. The piece is crystallized on all sides, and I can't find any real damage anywhere with the naked eye. I love how the Galena crystal have formed a "rose"-esque group, rarely seen for the species. The specimen sits very nicely on its own without the aid of a base or clay. These are rare on the market today, though once fairly easy to find 30+ years ago. Don't miss out on this excellent eye-catching specimen of this classic material. Valued at $1,250.
