Item Description
A beautiful and fine quality specimen of rarely seen crystallized Galena from the Mercur Mine (Merkur Mine), featuring sharp, very well-formed, cuboctahedral crystals measuring up to 1.2 cm associated with GEMMY honey colored Sphalerite crystals on matrix. The Galena crystals have a slightly "melted" appearance in areas. The Sphalerites look beautiful up close with fine crystallization. If you collect sulfides or German minerals, you can't afford to miss out on this attractive miniature display specimen. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#10092). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
