The famous mines at Dal'negorsk are renowned for sulfide and calcite specimens and this is an impresssive and aesthetic combination sulfide from the Cynthia Payne Collection. A 2.4 cm, sharp, lustrous, strikingly hoppered, metallic-gray, galena cuboctahedron is dramatically set atop a sculptural intergrown cluster layered bronzy pyrrhotite crystals. The galena is nearly pristine, with only a gentle bit of bruising on the lower fright. Classic and excellent combination material from the 1990s to early 2000s finds.
