Galena on Prehnite (ex Rich Kosnar Collection)

Item Description

This specimen was collected by Richard Kosnar on June 1, 1968. He had almost exclusive access to the quarry at the time, and was able to collect some very unique and interesting specimens (including some of the most well known Greenockites from the Western Hemisphere) over several years time. This piece is mounted in a small plasitc box, and under magnification, one can see a small metallic, silvery colored Galena crystal sitting on contrasting Prehnite matrix. This specimen is nearly 50 years old, and even though it's a micro specimen, it's a cool piece of history and NJ mineral collecting.
