Galena on Marcasite (Dave Stoudt Coll.)

During his years in Poland, collector Dave Stoudt sought out and purchased an array of Polish specimens little seen on the market here in the States. This is a striking large specimen of solid marcasite, with a gorgeous surface of brassy, bubbly, botryoidal forms. Contrasting cuboctahedral and cubic galena crysytals around the fringe are a nifty accent. A bit of periphery wear is noted to the galena crystals, but is a modest detraction. Uncommon and excellent combination material from this locale.with slight reddish accents from hematite. The color in person is more brassy/golden than the photos show. Beautiful specimen!
