Galena on Chalcopyrite

Just a GREAT-looking Galena on Chalcopyrite from the prolific Madan district. The Galena crystals are sharp, well-formed, and brilliant. These have the best shiny-metallic luster. In fact, the faces are so smooth and so mirror-like that it is actually very difficult to photograph. The Galenas rest on a fine, lustrous Chalcopyrite, whose color ranges from gold to almost a lavendar pink. Both the Chalocpyrite and the largest Galena are about 3 cm in size. An excellent, showy combination piece that is considerably above the norm.
