Item Description
Perched aesthetically on a limestone matrix is a cluster of lustrous, dark gray galena crystals, to 2.5 cm across. Several galena crystals clearly exhibit elegant hopper growth. This is a CLASSIC old style from the 1930s-1950s finds in the old TriState lead mining district, now seldom seen> This is actually an exceptional example of this style, often called "fortification galena" and we value it highly, perhaps $1000-1250. From the Keith Williams Collection of miniatures and small cabinet specimens - Keith was a well known dealer and collector for decades before retiring recently.
