Item Description
Excellent large galena cube from the famous Sweetwater Mine of the Missouri's Viburnum Trend. The impressive compound crystal has brilliant metallic-gray luster with enhances the interesting rippled faces. The front and three of the four edges are pristine. The fourth edge face is partially there and partially cleaved. Heavy lead ore at 2353 grams or 5.2 pounds mass.Specimens like this, so sharp and bright, are hard to come by now, as they came out long ago (probably 1970s-1980s). Ex Chet Lemanski Collection No. 7791CL and acquired in 1997. Classic Sweetwater Mine galena and uncommon in this quality today.
