Galena & Dolomite (old classic)

Galena and dolomite specimens are a Tri-State District classic and this is an impressive and aesthetic large specimen from the Oklahoma portion. This very well-proportioned and sculptural piece is highlighted by the striking cluster of matte-finish galena cubes, to 5.2 cm. Saddle-shaped dolomite rhombs are festooned on the unusual brecciated chert matrix and the scattered small sphalerite crystals adds even more character. The frontal face of the left cube is cleaved, but this remains a very fine and showy large old-time combination example of the species and famous locale.
